Background story of my YouTube channel…
When you sign a contract with any network, they own the channels you build with them. Not exactly rocket science, since they are investing in you and therefore, the channel growth. Still, in a business like podcasting, as your channels grow it feels personal. It’s literally the named the “Candace Owens Podcast” so you begin to wonder how any business could keep what has your name on it without you.
But business is business. How you feel about it, doesn’t really matter. It was always the Daily Wire’s right to keep my channels and we agreed upon that when I signed with them, eyes wide open and with legal counsel present.

When everything was going down back in March, Patrick Bet David was a great mentor to me. (Truly cannot thank him enough). As we sat in his office he told me “you should see if you can somehow pay to get your channels back. 3 million is a lot of subscribers and your numbers are strong, and thinking as a business person, the channel is not really of any value without you so they should be willing to sell.”
With everything said and done, my only option was to rebuild it. I told our tiny team everyday that my goal was to hit 3 million subs within 6 months.

Guess what? We did it within 5 and under a full scale attack from the mainstream media and former friends, insisting upon my cancellation.
